UNITED WAY HELPS AMERICANS ACHIEVE FINANCIAL STABILITY
Nearly 14% of Blair County residents are living at or below the poverty level, which is higher than Pennsylvania’s overall percentage. As a result when disaster strikes many families fall even deeper into debt and despair. The United Way of Blair County helps fund programs that can assist in stabilizing families in need. An example of such a program is the Family Services Incorporated Family Shelter, which offers those without a place to call home in our community a safe, clean, supportive environment, to create a new direction in their journey.
